Their fight with the giant, acid spitting jungle fly was long and arduous, and called for every last bit of their strength and abilities. It was honestly exhilarating to see them all work as a team again. Everyone knew where everyone was, how to best use their weapons, and how best to combine them for most effective take down.
She's just finished healing everyone, applying the last of her tears to Pearl's shoulders. But, instead of tired, her whole body feels like it's buzzing. She perhaps rubbed her lips a little too pronounced against Pearl's skin when she was crying on them, and now she can't stop thinking of just taking her right now.
But even she wants some privacy, at least this time. She has to think fast, they're all already talking about heading back to the portal.
"Um, I think I recall..." she scratches at her chin as she looks around at the mossy, viney trees in this jungle. "Ah, yes, this is that forest, I think there's a blue diamond staff that fell here during the war."
"Really?" Amethyst asks, her tone mildly curious, while Garnet remains quiet, arms crossed.
"Yeah! It would be causing all kinds of havoc if we left it unchecked." She puts a hand on Pearl's arm. "We should go check it out."
"Pff, alright," Amethyst responds, and takes a step before Rose turns and quickly responds--
"No! No, not at all, we don't need the whole team for this. Pearl and I should be able to take care of it on our own. Garnet, you and Amethyst can go back to the cave."
Garnet's still silent, simply looking at Pearl, lips flat and knowing. Rose is sure Garnet knows; she just hopes she'll go along. She breathes a sigh of relief when Garnet finally simply turns around and calls for Amethyst to follow.
Rose smiles down at Pearl. "Are you okay to come with me for this one little thing?" She's asking, but it's more a formality at this point. She knows Pearl will do anything she asks.
